International Summer Week

ISW is a meeting point for people just like you – young at heart, passionate to explore new cultures and to share their own.

For over 20 years, we have been presenting the beauties of Sardinia to the world, whilst simultaneously enabling our participants to discover the Mediterranean life and the richness of other cultures. Every year we welcome 200 young travellers from all over Europe and the world, making ISW one of the biggest intercultural events of the summer.

Some examples? Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cape Verde, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, South Korea. ISW gathers the whole world on one island for one week!

Join us to leave your mark in our Summer Week storyline!

What will I get?

Accommodation in
City Center

The Hostel Marina is a great welcoming hostel with the quality of a small hotel situated in the core of the Marina area in the heart of Cagliari. The rooms are all equipped with bathrooms/en-suite and can accommodate various numbers of people.

Breakfast &
Dinner

Two meals per day are included in the participation fee: Italian breakfast, served in the hostel every morning, and a buffet dinner, including tasty traditional meals from Sardinia and Italy.

Fun, Sport and
Entertainment

Our agenda is full of marvellous events: theme parties, games, quests, treasure hunts, sport tournaments, and more. We provide full transportation to and from all the venues, as well as entrance to all the events foreseen in our ISW plan.

Excursions,
Culture and Sea

Of course one of the main reasons to participate in our event is the chance to discover the hidden treasures of Sardinia. Crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and a heritage dating back 5000 years are just a small taste of what you will experience.

What will we do in International Summer Week?

Every day a different beach or landmark to explore, every evening a different party or cultural event. You will discover the jewels of the sea on our boat tours, taste local food treats and enjoy sunset dances on the sand. Every day you’ll become closer to the local culture and discover over 30 countries in a very special summer event.
Take a look here for more info.

Where will we stay?

We will be accommodated in the hostel Marina, a hotel-quality structure situated in the very centre of Cagliari. The location is at the heart of the historical district, and the nightlife area! The venue provides sheets and towels, and offers a number of facilities, including a 24 hour reception and free Wi-Fi. The hostel has rooms for two, three, four or six people, all equipped with a private bathroom (two bathrooms in 6-bed rooms). The staff will work to provide a suitable accommodation for everyone, compatibly with the limited availability of rooms of different sizes and the needs of participants. As ISW is an intercultural event, the management would kindly ask to keep a spirit of cooperation and be ready to make new friends whilst sharing the room with fellow Summerweekers.

What do I need to bring with me?

First of all, enthusiasm, a good mood and the will to discover Sardinia and the many countries of the participants with a spirit of cooperation and curiosity. We will do the rest. Moreover, prior to the event all attendants will receive an info pack containing all the important information. Should you have any doubts, you can always contact us through our email, social networks, contact form or website chat in the bottom right corner.

Why should I apply ASAP?

We have a very limited availability and places usually run out well in advance. Only 125 participants will get the chance to take part in Summer Week 2018 so don’t hesitate to apply and confirm your application with the deposit, as it’s the only way to secure your spot! Moreover, we always offer special prices and discounts for people confirming their participation at an early stage. Check the payment conditions here.

What if 7 days are not enough for me?

If you want to take some additional days to further explore Sardinia and look for more adventures, we will gladly support you. As August is high season in Sardinia, the Hostel will probably have limited space, therefore be sure you confirm your dates as soon as possible, in order to help us book them for you. As for activities, we always organise some extra activities in the days immediately before and after the official dates of ISW. Some examples of what we offer for our long-term guests? Excursions, cultural visits, traditional dinners, as well as the chance to discover our fishing traditions or take a private flight over southern Sardinia!

What if I’m not EU citizen and need visa for coming?

We do not issue the VISA itself, but we will support you in the process, working together with the hostel to provide you with the documents needed to request it. We highly recommend that you fill in the application form carefully, correctly providing all the data requested. In order to send you an invitation letter and booking confirmation, we will contact you via email. Please note that we start this procedure only for guests with an application already approved and payment of deposit already received and confirmed.
